Hasn't God been having a rest day since the creation of Eve. Wouldn't any change made to the physical world since then by God constitute breaking his own law of the sabbath, of which he is supposed to represent the perfect example?

Some poor guy got stoned for gathering sticks on the sabbath but God redesigns snakes, makes manna fall from the sky, creates rainbows, carves the ten commandments, makes the sun stand still and many other miracles that amount to doing 'work' and its fine?

in a recent post ffghost made a comment about how they're always inserting modern concepts into biblical narratives to make it relatable to jw's organization.

here are some that come to mind:.

- the capitalized term "governing body" when referring to the older men in jerusalem (really just another group of christians that paul outspokenly disagreed with and didn't look to for approval).

JW illustrations of the time proved that jesus was clean shaven and not a dirty hippy.

i had an aunt that had rheumatic fever as a child and only had an iq the high 70's.

but, absolutely no one was able to bs her on an emotional level.

she had an uncanny ability to see through people's bs.

Intelligence manifests itself in various forms, emotional, athletic, financial, numbers, memory etc.

Someone may have a high IQ and still be dependant on their parents, or, if they have a good income, may be financial disasters.

Then there is the whole talent vs hard work, dedication and discipline argument.

IQ is a start but it is definitely not the complete picture.

Everyone knows vaccines are no guarantee that you won't catch the virus. If the numbers of hospitalisations are correct, it shows that the overwhelming majority of vaxxed people that are catching it, are NOT ending up in hospital. Therefore, the vaccine appears to be doing its job of reducing symptoms and potential complications, which may be the difference between life and death for many people.

I personally don't care if someone doesn't want to get vaxxed, it's their body after all. For some people, their individual rights outweigh their community responsibility.

There was a bomb scare at that convention, everyone was evacuated and streamed out onto the surrounding streets.Pretty sure it was late in the year, Nov/Dec.

You asked the question, why are there as many vaxxed in hospital as there are unvaxxed? Rivergang answered that question for you and explained that, in fact, with a country like Australia, with a vaccination rate of 95%, the remaining 5% unvaxxed make up half of the hospitalisations.

This means that unvaxxed people are grossly over-represented in hospitalisations and proves that the vaccine is doing its job.

But, of course, in your next post, you ask the same question again and query if the vaccine is working.

To put it another way, if the vaccine wasn't doing its job right now, almost every single person in hospital would be vaxxed. These figures might change over time as the pandemic evolves, not because the vaccines arent working, but because the only people left to get sick are the vaccinated. If vaccinated people were going to hospital at the same rate as unvaxxed, according to my maths, you would have 19 times more people in hospital right now.

Door to door again?

do you think the jdubs will start up the door whacking again one day?.

there has to be many inside the org that are dreading having to do that again and as for the general public seeing this, it’s hard to imagine.

Don't know what will happen with the door to door preaching but I was surprised to get an invitation to a zoom meeting from an old jw friend. They sent me the link and said you can attend any congregation you want to now.
